Kewpie Dolls made their debut in 1909 as illustrations in the Christmas issue of Ladies Home Journal in the USA. Drawn by illustrator Rose O'Neill, the illustrations were soon bought to life as real figurines, and were extremely popular in the early 1900's. Made from soft vinyl in Japan
